Winter sowing is a method of starting seeds by using used milk cartons and other recycled plastic containers to plant them up in winter and set them outside to sprout. This cuts down on room in the house taken up by seed containers (handy if your spouse isn't a gardener) and helps some seeds germinate by going through the freeze/thaw cycle.
A friend had a lot of success with this last year so I was potting up a few things and checking out YouTube and thought I would pass this on for inspiration:
